Durdans Hospital announces its latest edition of Heart Health Forum, a periodic event aimed at spreading awareness about Cardiovascular Disease prevention and overall cardiac care. “Prevention Before Crisis” Durdans Heart Health Forum will be conducted by a panel of specialists and will take place on Saturday the 24th February 2018 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. The Forum, open free to the public, invites the general public who wish to be well informed about new developments in cardiac health, the Durdans Heart Health Forum would be of particular interest to those who have undergone cardiac interventions or are at risk for developing Cardiovascular Disease.
The two-hour programme is aimed at raising awareness and educating the public about risks of heart disease and effective measures that can be taken to prevent and manage such risks. The Forum will further look at available medical and surgical cardiac interventions. A heart-healthy cooking demonstration and relaxation therapy session are also included in the programme.
The panel of speakers will feature renowned Consultant Cardio-thoracic Surgeon, Dr. Kesava Dev; Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Pandula Athauda-Arachchi; Assistant Surgeon and Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Tyronne Fernando; Resident Family Physician, Dr. Shreen Willatgamuwa; Chartered Physiotherapist and Certified Paediatric Bobath Therapist, Mr. Gopi Kitnasamy and Dietitian and Nutritionist, Lasika Jayamaha from Durdans Hospital. Sessions will conclude with an interactive Q&A session.
