Dr Kesava Dev is Consultant Cardiothoracic surgeon at Durdans Heart Centre.
Having been at Durdans Hospital since 2004, Dr Dev has performed over 9000 surgeries in the last 13 years.
Previously, he has worked as Chief Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital, Hyderabad heading the Cardiothoracic Surgical Department.
Dr Dev has worked extensively in the UK at Yorkshire Heart Centre at Leeds General Infirmary & Killlingbeck Hospital and Western Infirmary Glasgow.
He has also been employed at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College Bangalore, Railway Hospital Perambur Madras JIPMER Pondicherry and Trivandrum Medical College India.
Dr Dev has experience in beating heart surgery in almost all patients, use of arterial grafts to get the best long term results for CABG, valve repairs and valve replacements. He has specialised in minimally invasive cardiac surgeries-minimally invasive valve repairs and replacements and MIDCABG multi-vessel bypass, emergency repair of aortic dissection, bentall procedures, aortic root widening, maze procedures, extended myomectomy, chest wall resection and reconstruction and cardiothoracic trauma.
He also has extensive experience in performing redo CABGs.
Dr. Dev been involved in training and teaching doctors, both undergraduates and post-graduates, in every stage of his career.
He has attended extensive trainings related to Cardiothoracic Surgery in India and the UK. Dr Dev has also continuously attended many courses and conferences abroad (1995-2018).
He has contributed to numerous research articles and publications related to Cardiothoracic surgery and has presented in several prestigious conferences including 2nd world conference on Open Heart Surgery, Bombay and Annual Congress of Malaysian Paediatric Association.
Dr Dev is a life member of the Indian Association of Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgeons.
Outside of work, Dr Dev enjoys hill walking, photography and travel.
